abstract = "This work presents a preliminary numerical study aiming to
understand the generating mechanism of a poorly studied equatorial
plasma irregularities know as Equatorial QuasiPeriodic echoes
(EQP). Employing a two-dimensional version of a collisional
interchange instability simulation model, we are able to reproduce
the spatial features of this kind of irregular structures. Our
simulations suggest that the interaction of gravity waves (GWs)
with different wavelengths may generate such plasma
irregularities, the GW with lower wavelength having a fundamental
role in the quasi-periodic nature of these irregularities. The
results are compared with in-situ rockets measurements of
numerical electrons concentration and seem to represent the first
                         in situ detections of EQP.",
